Galatin, Intant film
"01.02.2016". The title is the date of my grandmother passing away. It is narrating my loss of my grandmother and my memories, feelings and emotions. Gelatin and Polaroid are the materials used. Gelatin is one of the materials used for fixing images on photography paper. Gelatin is also made from bones and tissues. I link both of these aspects of gelatin to family bonding and connection. The Polaroid is a picture of my grandmother and me, which was joined with gelatine and exposed to time. A transformation from melting over dissolving to drying happened. This process makes fading memory, feelings and emotions tangible, but all this still cannot be preserved. Four photographs document this transformation.
